You would think Tablo would test every Roku stick made. Why don’t they know without a doubt when a new stick comes out if it works or not? I’m betting the 4k Roku doesn’t. Anyone running a 4 channel with a 4k Roku successfully?
Roku is not very open about upcoming changes. It is hard for the big app developers to get advanced specifications, let alone a smaller operator like Tablo. Tablo does try to keep a good list of compatible devices.
I have 2 TVs that work just fine. 1 that doesn’t go any further than looking for the selected station and then pops back to the home page. Out of 168 channels it plays 4. The TV says it’s receiving a strong signal. I’m looking for anyone having success with a Roku 4k stick.
There could be a difference in how your Rokus are connected to the router. I suspect they’re connected using wifi - is this correct? Is this non-working TV further away from the router than the others or is the wifi signal to this TV blocked by walls or other possible interference?
It’s about 15-20 ft away. Even when all other devices are not streaming it exhibits the same thing. The TV says it’s receiving a strong signal. All other “apps “ work fine.
All TVs have Roku sticks. This tv has a 4k stick but settings are on HD 1080. I think this could be the problem. I was hoping someone was using a 4k stick and could shed som e light.
I have two Roku Express 4k+ sticks and they work perfectly fine. They are connected via WiFi.
I am on a Gen4 4 tuner Tablo.
I have three Roku Ultras running Ethernet and they work fine as well.
Hi Don - If you’re talking about the current Roku Streaming Stick Plus (4K) (3830), it’s not supported as it doesn’t have the video codecs required for playback of over-the-air TV.
Roku doesn’t help with their confusing and similar naming conventions.
I have two Roku Express 4k+ Model: 3941x2 units and they work perfectly fine.
Okay! Now we’re getting somewhere! Thx so much. I’m going to check my stick and switch it out.
How about a Roku HD 3840R. Voice Remote with TV controls?
Tablo warns against HD-only Rokus.
How about the hd 3840?
You can check this wiki page for more info on specific Roku devices.
Even tho we have 7 Roku devices… I switched over to a Onn Pro box in my main living room due to Roku’s weird updates. Its not just Tablo, other APPs take some time to catch up when Roku updates. Android is just easier to deal with.
Thanks
