Tablo Needs to be Rebooted Regularly

I use several Roku units. I can get into the app and the guide will come up, but if I try to watch a channel, I’ll get the spinning wheel for a minute and then it’ll fail to load the live channel and go back to the guide. I’ll then power cycle the unit and go back into the app and it works fine. I don’t think it’s a DHCP problem as the app does still find Tablo, it just won’t load live channels without a reboot.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks!

This sound like the Roku OS14 problem. Make sure you have the most up to date firmware on your Tablo. (Settings, near the bottom.) You want to be running 2.2.54. After you update, you should likely also turn on Audio Compatibility Mode.

Firmware is up to date - I even checked it again after the reboot tonight just to be sure. Audio compatibility is turned on. I tried it both ways before rebooting.

Have you tried accessing it on your phone? Do you get the same behavior?

May want to consider setting a DHCP reservation on your Tablo. Which Ive done. Not saying it will solve everything, but just a good networking habit.

This year ive probably manually rebooted my Tablo like 3 times.

That’s a good idea. I did not the last time I had the issue but when it fails again, I will. Though I did try 2 different Roku boxes and had the same issue on both.

did you resolve your issue? i get black screen with channel info and channel does not come up. If i restart it, it will work but i have to do this everyday or multiple times. May play with audio settings.

I haven’t had the issue since my last post - all is working well now. I haven’t changed anything so I’m not sure why.

When you have the issue, do you also have the same problem on the iOS or Android app? And are you using a Roku box to work?

thats good to hear. yeah so iphone works good so i know it is roku issue. using roku streaming device model 4200x.
