New version does not restart at last watched point. Both on an iPad and iPhone. Works fine on Firestick.
Further, commercial skip does not appear.

I experienced the same thing. Started a recording in the iPhone app while viewing remotely and when I returned later to continue watching, it started from the beginning of the program.
