I have a third Gen Fire TV stick & 2 Tuner 4th Gen Tablo. Does anyone else see moving up/down thru the channel guide to be sluggish/laggy? I had legacy Tablo and that was never an issue. I’ve reloaded stick and tablo, but no improvement.
My experience, after using Fire devices for 11 years, is this is common for Fire devices. The Fire devices don’t have large hard drives and have limited RAM. Fire devices allow apps to be constantly gathering your data in the background. That activity consumes cache. Try clearing the cache on all your apps. After that check for updates to Fire device. Install any updates and then reboot the Fire device. I recommend also physically unplugging the device for a couple of minutes. You may also want to reboot both your modem and your router to ensure clean connections between all your devices and the router. I stopped using Fire devices as my primary device because of its laggy performance and poor handling of larger data files/streams.
I’m reading from others in the community, the tablo fire tv app 1.6.0 fixed the guide crashes that were occurring previously, but others also saying the sluggish guide movement is still there.
I have an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4k Max and I have posted in a couple of threads that the guide is slow and clunky. Frequently, when I scroll up and down through the guide, I get a lot of channels displaying “Programming not available”, where just seconds before that, the correct information was displayed.
Previously, I used the Amazon Recast DVR, and while it had a lot of other problems, the program guide worked very quickly and smoothly.
One thing that helped was un-selecting a lot of the fast channels and channels that I never watched, so that they didn’t appear in the guide listing. That made the guide navigation a little better.
