Tablo Exporter - Export Tablo Recordings

So do you have it as a repeating manual recording?

Yes, I do.

Ok, let me look at that… Thanks!

I think that without a guide subscription that data is not being encoded into the file because it is not being pulled from the guide data. Does that make sense?

I agree, my suggestion is to add the Air Date to the file name as that info is available.

I am doing that now, but my only concern would be with manual recordings that air the same day

Just sent you a PM

Some local news broadcasts only use the show name and nothing else, so that is one type that continuously overwrites the previous export. Some other Digital 2 channels don’t have episode titles or seasons/episode information included on the shows they are airing, so they keep overwriting exports if there are multiple episodes recorded as well. I have a guide subscription and many shows work fine, but there are a handful that would work better if the airdate and time was included in the file name to distinguish each episode.

Interesting, I will look into that also

Ok version 0.03b is updated and available at http://jettsoft.com/products.html

Don’t forget to get the latest version of ffmpeg at https://www.ffmpeg.org/download.html

Also make sure you have the latest Java from http://www.java.com/en/

This version includes naming of output files to include airdate when missing episode and title information.

Extract the zip file into a directory of your choosing.

You can run by double clicking on TabloExport.jar or run from a command line using java -jar (dir you put the jar)TabloExport.jar

Let me know if you have any issues or questions

Not trying to be a smart aleck or something, but I do wish Tablo would take a hint here at what supreme customer service looks like!

Difference being, if they make a mistake their business suffers, for me it is just something I do on the side :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I just tried out the new version and everything works perfectly. It’s adding the date and times to the filenames and no longer overwriting shows without episode info. I can now batch export everything at once overnight. Your program has saved me a ton of time and added a good amount of value to my Tablo. Thanks a lot, Jestep. You’re the man.

This has also fixed the problem I was having with manual recordings being overwritten because of no Season/Episode data!
I exported about a half dozen episodes of two series last night and they all completed without a hitch.

Great stuff Jestep! Thank you!

@Jestep I’m thinking that I really need to find a reason to use your software.

I can’t for the life of me see why I would ever use this (I know that others do, it is just not how I use my Tablo or watch TV) but it looks so cool I want to play with it.

Is it just me or sorting by date doesn’t take the year into account? I have recordings done in June 2014 mixed with those done in June 2015.

Thanks for that catch, changed it to have year in front of month…
