Correct, any external drive formatted by Tablo will be in EXT4 format. In Windows you should be able to change partitioning (delete, etc) and format ithe drive n Disk Management. On a Mac, use Disk Utility and make sure to choose Show All Devices so that you format the drive at its top level.
“Few bucks on a new HDD”. I haven’t found any under $60+. As I said, this has been hardly used. They don’t just rot sitting on a shelf, afaik.
A few bucks is relative, I understand. I would be devastated if I put 6months of files on a drive only to find out something is wrong with it.
But if you’re looking for a good deal… $100, Sam’s Club, 5T HDD. It’s what I’ve got on my 4-tuner.
We’ve mentioned this already to our dev Team. They asked for how old the drive was and were curious about any support tickets.
All that being said, we’re glad your Tablo is running smoothly.
I don’t save shows for the long term. It’s just temporary until I watch it, and then it’s gone.
Thanks. If Dev needs anything like log files, I’m happy to assist in any way I can.
Thanks Kriskal,
We’ve DMed instructions to on what we’d need to access your Tablo’s logs.
