Strange new issue with certain channels

This past Friday, suddenly my CBS and Fox channels, as well as their subchannels, where unable to play or be recorded. ABC, NBC, CW, & PBS (all of which are broadcast from the same area as CBS and Fox), all come in fine. When I try to watch one of those 2 stations I get a “Player Error - Weak Signal” message. I tried tweaking my antenna, but I could tell that it hadn’t moved, and nothing I did changed anything. The weird part is, after I pulled the power cord to reset my Tablo with no results, I did a rescan and those channels were full green. I went back and tried to watch them and got the same error message. Clearly, I’m having an issue with my Tablo, but I have no idea what to do about it. Thank you for any help!

After you did the channel scan, did you hit “add to guide”? Sounds like you’re a victim of the channel repack. If you don’t hit add to guide, the new frequencies for the channels aren’t updated.

No, I didn’t and that was it. It didn’t occur to me that they may have changed the frequencies they were broadcasting at. That probably should have been obvious. Next time, I’ll know. lol. Thanks for the help!

Maybe it’s time to create a blog about this issue? Seems many are forgetting to hit ‘add to guide’? Or maybe the UI could be updated to tell people the channel information will not updated unless you hit add to guide?

Maybe just changing the text to “Update Guide” would do it. “Add to guide” is misleading if they didn’t actually add any new channels.

100% agreed. It’s already on the engineering team’s to-do list.

In fact in Roku it’s already called UPDATE LINEUP.
