After a firmware upgrade, I think last spring, I have had the problem of the sound continuing for several seconds when I fast forward, or pause. It is more of an issue when I pause it, since I have to rewind to get all the audio for the scene.
Has anyone else seen this issue? or know of a cure?
The sound continues for about 4 seconds after you press pause or fast forward, it is very annoying.
But I have recently seen this one on Roku non-5.1 sound:
My Roku got the Roku OS update 9.0 on the same day as the tablo app update 2.8.0.
I think Roku OS 9.0 has a video new player. Sometimes when I’m watching a recording and I don’t pause but hit the back button, A gray screen appears with a barely visible spinning wheel. The pause lasts around 4-8 seconds during which sound is playing.
I have the same problem with a Fire stick. I also have a 2nd gen Fire box and it does not have the problem. My Fire sticks are 2nd gen. I have 4 of them and they all have the problem. I also have a 4 tuner with the latest firmware.
@ngoyette@jcjms We’re looking into this now, though we haven’t had any luck reproducing this so far. Can you both try installing the ‘Tablo Preview’ application on your device(s) experiencing the issue? Do you have the same issue using this app?
I did some testing last night. I have the problem in both apps on all devices. I know I said the 2nd gen box was OK but when I paid attention last night it happened on it too. So, both the box and the stick and both apps keep playing sound for 3 to 4 seconds after pressing pause or fast forward. Since ngoyette just downloaded the Preview app and now has no problem, I will delete my app and re-download it to see if that makes a difference. Will report back later.
