Scan did not recognize channels in the 14.x range

I’m in Suwanee GA area code 30024 and the 14.x range comes in perfect on my television yet the tablo completely overlooked all of the channels.

This is what’s on 14:   ION Television is available over-the-air! WPXA on 14 with a digital (DTV) receiver.

I’d suggest opening a ticket with support and asking them to check with the guide provider.

BTW where in Suwannee are you? When I lived there (just north of Moore Road) my reception of ION was always difficult. That’s in the pre-Tablo days.

I’m at Suwanee Town Center…  ION comes in perfect!

@Jerz I’ve just checked with our guide data provider and they’ve got data for 14.1-5, so the channels (and data) are certainly available.

Have you tested this on your TV using the same antenna you’re using with the Tablo? Are there any splits in the coax, or is there anything going on that may degrade your signal?

Yes, it’s the same antenna and all televisions, antenna, and the tablo have homeruns to the 8 port amplifier.

I’ll check the connections when I get home and if that doesn’t work I’ll move it directly to the amplifier and do a scan and see if I get different results.

I have found that many TV tuners, particularly in newer TV’s, are more sensitive than those in the Tablo.   If you are able to receive a channel with your TV but not with the Tablo it means the signal isn’t adequate for Tablo.    Your options are:

- shorter cable run
- reducing the number of time antenna cable is split
- getting an amplifier
- re-positioning antenna
- bigger/better antenna.

ok… well I have five green balls on ion right now… I adjusted the antenna in the attic slightly raising it up and turning it a but and rescanned…  but I’m watching it right now and although the picture looks great on the tv, I am noticing the picture on the tv dropping out momentarily every so often.  hmmm… guess the signal isn’t as good as I thought.

Jerz. You mentioned you have homeruns. With this app you can use your homerun to get live signal strength data for getting the best antenna position. I used it to dial in my antenna and worked great. I had my iPad in the attic and was able to instantly see how the antenna position affected the signal.

That is exactly what I do except I use an Android app.  Makes adjusting antenna position simple
