I have a Tablo 4th Gen 2-Tuner Over-The-Air (OTA) DVR.
Recently connected a1.5TB hard drive, it is detected and using up space. Currently, 25% used but the recordings keep getting deleted like without the hdd. No impact on adding more storage. Any help would be appreciated!
What does the unit report as the Mb of space available? Check the settings to see if Auto-Delete is enabled.

- Auto delete is off.
- 1070GB available of 1500GB.
Since I installed the drive, the utilization has gone up steadily but I can’t see any increase in show retention period!
This is a real head-scratcher.

If so, and if you haven’t already done this, try rebooting the router and wait for it to come back up, then reboot or power cycle the Tablo and wait for it to return, then restart the streaming device. Just trying to get everything to a steady state to see if that has a positive effect on the recordings.
I think… I think, maybe Tablo can chime in… I think channels flow through the hard drive. So you can pause live tv and etc. Maybe there is a buffer space for that feature. I know there is a DB stored on the drive too. Just food for thought.
