Possible impact on TABLO

I see it more as an opportunity for the 9 stations/5 owners here. Auctioning RF28 through RF36 isn’t the end of the world.

In the Dallas market all the UHF frequencies are occupied except RF15, RF16 and RF17. I understand that RF15 is still used by municipal emergency services, albeit infrequently.

Also there are several duopolies where the major networks have 2 full power stations. They could easily channel share with themselves and reduce the number of diginets. It would improve broadcast quality.

KFAA already does this. All diginets were moved to WFAA 8 and KFAA broadcasts simulcast WFAA 8.8, KFAA 29.1 Independent and Estrella 29.2. They would be displaced on RF30.

Fox 4 RF35, 27 RF27
NBC 5 RF 24, Telemundo 39 RF36
ABC 8 RF8, 29 RF30 (WFAA and KFAA)
CBS 11 RF19, 21 RF18

KUVN 23 Univision has 2 stations RF11 and RF33 the latter would be displaced.

KSTR 49 already channel shares 4 different stations as Nextgen lighthouse. It would be displaced on RF34.

Worse case is the 4 UHF LPTV stations getting displaced. No great loss.
