New Playback issue with Roku3

So a couple of days back I started to notice a playback issue with my Roku3.   Every 20 or so seconds the video would stutter.  It’s mighty annoying.  I let it run for an hour or so to see if it would even out.  It didn’t.   The stutter continued.   IT occurs on all channels and regardless of live vs. recorded TV.   


I have a roku2 that is on the same network.  On that device and on the web app the video plays back fine.    

I’ve tried rebooting the roku3 a few times as well as the table, just to see if that will help.  So far it doesn’t seem to fix anything.

Is your Roku 3 wired or using WiFi? If WiFi, is it running on a 2.4 or 5GHz band?

The roku3 is wired.

I saw elsewhere that a factory reset had helped others with Roku playback issues.    So I tried that and now everything is working fine.   Just thought I’d mention it incase others start to have a similar problem.
