None of our applications can communicate with the unit after, seemingly, an update. After powering the unit off, it will perform the Blue sos blink. So i power cycle it again -for the 10th time. My wife doesn’t want me to reset the unit because we have hundreds of recordings and settings. Someone please help.
This is turning in to a nightmare, I guess am lucky my device is not upgradable ![]()
A technician suggested I perform a factory reset, but the problem persists. Has anyone discovered a fix for this?
If a full factory reset didn’t fix it you may have bricked it during the update.

Disconnect your USB hard drive before doing factory reset. Don’t plug bac in until reset is completed.

[/quote]Thank you this resolved my problem. We’re not going to complete the update process - this was awful!
I have the same issue. Unit updated then bricked when it rebooted. I’ve tried resetting the unit, full reset on the unit, nothing helps.
The legacy units have not had any firmware updates for some time, I wonder if some of these issues are caused by corrupted recordings or database entries. @TabloTV does the firmware update process run a system database cleanup/check?
On legacy device at least, maintenance mode takes care of this daily:
https://support.tablotv.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002622263-What-is-Maintenance-Mode
- considering this, there shouldn’t be any issue because “legacy units have not had any firmware updates for some time”
Nightly maintenance handles database cleanup.
