It's Spring! Where is the AppleTV App?

I hear the Tablo for Apple TV will not have Dolby sound or any pass through for surround sound. That really sucks if true. please tell me I’m wrong.

Lol that has nothing to do with the Apple TV app. The Tablo device itself converts the audio from 5.1 AC3 to 2.0 AAC to ensure playback on devices like Roku or iPhone, etc.

There are endless forums stating the frustration of no AAC or AC3 support for DD5.1

This is for Apple “TV” as in television. How many people with 5.1 surround will think 2.0 AAC is ridiculous?

Majority of people I know do not have an AVR with a 5.1 setup connected to their HDTV. Most have just a TV which has only Stereo speakers.

Video — H.264/AVC (.MKV, .MP4, .MOV), on Roku 4 only: H.265/HEVC (.MKV, .MP4, .MOV); VP9 (.MKV)
Audio – AAC (.MKV, .MP4, .MOV); MP3(.MP3, .MKV); WMA (.ASF, .WMA, .MKV), FLAC (.FLAC, .MKV), PCM (.WAV, .MKV, .MP4, .MOV), AC3/EAC3 (.MKV,.MP4. .

Galaxy S7 doesn’t support AC3 (I just Googled) so each device will need to ask what audio format.
