Hard Disc speed and buffering

I have a Seagate Expansion 1Tb HDD that I use for Tablo. It works fine. But I notice the initial buffering time, probably not more that 15 seconds, especially while watching live tv. My disk drive is 5400 rpm. Would a faster drive reduce the buffering time?

NO. Probably due to your LAN.

Tablo takes 10 seconds or a bit more to start streaming a new live channel, due to the way the device does transcoding. Neither hard drive speed nor network speed can do anything to reduce that.

Thanks for the info.
