I’m not even sure what your issue is. The DVR is kinda the big selling point of the Tablo. If you didn’t need this feature… why did you buy it? You’re not even making sense in these posts.
Can you please not have this discussion/argument on my post about favorites not loading?
It’s irrelevant and I’m getting notifications each time you reply.
11 months later and Tablo still has not fixed the guide issue when using favorites. They are now blaming the program guide provider but that is just an excuse.
It is Tablo’s problem. If it was the program guide provider that had the issue The guide wouldn’t work at all but the issue is due to the gap between the favorite channels, once you select all channels the channels which have the program guide problem when selected as favorites now have the proper program guide information. That means it’s likely a Tablo app cache problem versus a program guide data problem.
I’ve been trying to figure out why data won’t load into my five Favorites channels, and this has been a known bug since 2023? Shame on you, Tablo.
Well I’m glad to see another firmware update and still no fix for the program guide marking favorite channels in the EPG as programming not available because Tablo has decided to only cache a small number of channels. They sequentially load the channels and don’t handle large gaps in channels properly when using Fire, Android or Google tv.
Roku on works because the favorites feature doesn’t work properly. It turns off the favorites and reverts to all channels every time you exit the app.
Come on Tablo this product has so much potential but the engineers and qa teams are doing a very poor job with product testing and usability.
Haven’t you heard?..we’re the unpaid beta testers.
So when is soon? It has been over a year for a problem that appears to have been caused by a foolish design to limit the caching of the program guide to chunks of data.
Why is it taking so long to fix this issue for Android/Google TV users?
So it looks like Tablo may have fixed the issue with the program guide when using favorites after a year plus.
It would have been nice to notify the user base of the fix being implemented. When I contacted them in January they said they had no idea when it was going to be scheduled to be fixed. I’m not sure who is running their release schedule but I am certain it was on the schedule. Maybe they would like to pass accurate information to the customer base, they would have happier customers .
