Guide and Load Errors Tablo freezing now

Called Tablo Support when my Tablo became unusable this morning - AI Chat Bot says there is another Server Outage. How long will this outage last? Last few days I have encountered issues when selecting a Show to watch it would hourglass and then display an error has occurred msg with a Dismiss notification. Guide was normal but it wouldn’t open the options for a Show. I sometimes could go all the way to the left of the Guide and select the Channel itself and then it would play the current show. Today can’t get it to work at all - lost the Guide and it freezes up.

If there is indeed an outage today there need to be more tweaks so the status page…

as it’s not showing anything.

I sent you that information on the other thread.

Oh no! That text is missing.

BTW my device is still in the ditch.

Could it be that tablo uses cloudflare for this.

We experienced some slowness earlier on the Status page, and I also saw an outage reported on a Tablo FB page. However, we haven’t seen any issues on our FireTV Stick 4k Max since we started watching around 11:00 AM CST.

I am noticing, however, that the Home screen on my Samsung Galaxy phone is blank, but other items are working. It also appears that my overnight Guide update took longer than normal.

One thing @TabloTV could add to make the Status page more usable is an historical grid, which could show by hour any outages over time for a 12- or 24-hour period.

UPDATE: 1520 hrs CST - we’ve been seeing a few incidents this afternoon where the show we’re watching just stops working and we get a Playback Error, then we either get booted out to Tablo Home or back to FireTV Home, then we have to come back in and it works.

What does it mean if their servers a fine and idle but some other part of the cloud is sickly.

I had issues running the Tablo app on Apple TV 4K this morning now, and later in the day and it won’t load stations now. I am beginning to think I made a mistake by purchasing this.

Sorry you’re running into that @Guitargain,

Would you contact Tablo Support? They should be able to help.

Tablo Support is useless!! All you get now is an AI Chat Bot. No real human to speak to that has real knowledge of the Tablo Device. If somehow you get to a real person, it’s a John out of India that you can’t understand and just offers the standard response - Did you reboot your device? Useless!! Mine just went into Offline Mode this morning 1/1/26. Yes my Internet is up and fine. Another Tablo Server outage yet again? Unbelievable SMH

It’s a failover feature. When it can’t communicate with their servers.

My experience with Tech support was quite different. Yes, I usually get someone in an overseas call center, but I have found them to be polite and helpful. The few times I’ve called I tell them up front what I have already tried and that usually gets them to skip the checklist.

Still waiting?

My experience with tech support has been poor to this point

Everything is going self service.

Yeah, I decided to do a hard reset of my unit today because stations were showing up on the scan, but not showing up on the Guide. And yes, I definitely unchecked, saved, checked and saved again on the list of scanned stations.

But I’m just unable to get Tablo back up and running. The error message says location services have not been configured for Tablo when I know they have

I’ve also rebooted my router and all devices

The error message “Try Again” button does nothing… and I simply can’t exit the screen

I called Customer Service and they told me there’s an outage (what’s new) and they couldn’t do anything today

Anybody have any ideas?

Unfortunately, I’m sorry to say, it sounds like you’re stuck in the setup loop so there may not be much you can do while their systems are down. We ran a coax from our signal amp directly to our main television so we could still watch during times when the Tablo isn’t working. This hasn’t happened very often but it did happen once or twice in 2025.

My advice to everyone, once the Tablo is set up, is to resist the temptation to fiddle, piddle, or tinker with it. I think 99.44% of the time it’s a system issue and will eventually recover on its own.

Thanks, I think people fiddle because things are so often not working right. And yes, you’re probably right, impatience leads us to tweak when things might recover on their own but sadly, even when one problem resolves itself another one quickly surfaces.

General rule of thumb… When your Tablo Gen4 is acting up, restrain yourself. Do nothing immediately.

I think you are using Apple? And a hard reset.

It may resolve on its own. My Android mobile was in install mode yesterday until the servers came online. It was as if nothing happened when I tried the app again.

I don’t have any personal experience with Apple but with the other apps on other platforms:

Android mobile
LGTV
Fire 4k G2

Always start with the mobile app first.
Insure ‘location’ is on before starting.
Maybe use an adjacent zip code.
Make sure you are (mobile app) on the same network as the Tablo - no guest or subnets.

  1. Kill it - force stop
  2. Clear cache
  3. Clear data
  4. Uninstall app
  5. Reinstall app
  6. Go through the motions

If the Mothership is up and running it should work. Check status first.

It’s already broken so what’s there to lose?

Mothership is dead.

I’ve been having hit and miss issues for the last few days. Android won’t even connect, iOS is extremely slow if it even works, and Fire TV comes up with unknown error page at first, but eventually the home page will come up. Although, selecting the Live page is totally hit and miss with error page saying it’s unable to load live TV sometimes. And, it’s not automatically going into offline mode when this happens. I’m on the west coast.

Yea, Apple and Fire.

I don’t know what’s going on. I did a hard reset because I had been previously connecting with no issues so I presumed that would continue.

I’ve deleted apps, reinstalled apps, rebooted my router, rebooted all devices…still stuck.

I also switched from Wi-Fi to ethernet to see if that might make a difference, but it did not.

So I’ve just unplugged it. I’ll plug it back in later and see if anything changes but if not, I guess I’m going to have to wait for people to come back either tomorrow or Monday.

Not a happy camper.
