Boredom overtook me yesterday…
I got out the old Channel Master 7600 Stream+ and hooked her up to the gateway via Ethernet, TV HDMI and did a rescan.
To my surprise it worked fairly well. Could not view two MPEG4 channels but the video and audio was clean.
Then I installed the Tablo Gen4 app. I had done this when I first got the Gen4 nearly three years ago. It crashed a lot then and overheated as I was using WiFi for both the Tablo and the Stream+.
But it was surprisingly stable using Ethernet. Faster response than the LGTV and overall pleasant. Good video and audio. Groovy.
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he’ll complain about the service.
And give a bad Yelp review.

I purchased the Tablo Gen4 December 19, 2023.
I had no problem with the device that required support.
Until September 3, 2025
It’s been nonstop complete waste of time. I’ve spent more time trying to get support fixes than I have using the Gen4. Mostly nonsense from forum members but also poor customer service.
One full year GustoTV is unviewable.
I’ve turned off the FAST channels. Seen them all a dozen times. All available on other streaming services for free.
Rescan and save takes 15 minutes to update the guide. I have to rescan several times because once doesn’t work. Channels missing or red dots. Rescan a few times and it’s ok. Power cycle.
My Channels never match the Guide Service lineup. Check or no check.
I’m not a cordcutter. I haven’t had Dish or Direct since 2007. No subscriptions.
Recently pauses and spinner. Video jutter.
There’s nothing wrong with my antenna or my network. Or Fire Stick 4k G2.
I’ve made a poor choice. I’m hoping the damn thing burns out like everyone else reported.
I just want to watch TV in bed without running coax.
