Does Everything Have To Be Done on the Tablo?

Oh god I looked that up. Poor ducks/geese :frowning:

Believe it or not, in the USA you can rent just about anything. Must not be true in your country. Btw, how do you get access to the Internet? Nice to have your own netblock I suppose. @Monkey just my way of saying… arrghh instead of saying something totally nasty. But I appreciate your belligerence nonetheless. And thanks for not reading or trying to understand or read anything about the company or case… impressive!

LMAO you are unreal man. Aereo was re trasmitting without compensating the content creators. They built a business of profit using other peoples work. Not sure what country you live in but in the US that is stealing and thank god we have the Supreme court to set them straight. You know your wrong, it is why you keep ending your very long arguments with things like “I will puke if you don’t agree” and “If you don’t agree keep re reading till you do”, it is pathetic. Go ahead insult me for agreeing with US law which you seem to pick and choose what should be followed.

Fine, but I’m right and he’s wrong.

How old are you? 5? Go puke all over everything little boy. OH BTW for the 100th time the Supreme court already ruled and guess what…YOUR WRONG! LOL

You are both right.
Feel better?
Now go take a nap.
Milk and cookies will be waiting for you when you awake.

If I eat all of my cookies and throw up… is that a broadcast or public performance?

You can do what ever you want with your own puke just don’t steal from other people like Aereo did.

They should absolutely leverage cloud services for image content and guide data. It seems like the Tablo hardware is a bit lightweight for this duty as you can tell by the syncing time between client and Tablo. They could get rid of the syncing time if they leveraged cloud services.

Regardless of cloud services, it seems like Tablo isn’t being creative with caching data and prioritizing near term data for content to enhance experience.

If Aereo had a real antenna (not the little staple that they claim can work on it’s own, without having another 1,000 staples next to it) I would expect the supreme court decision to be different. But as it stands, they tried to game the system and lost.

I don’t think they’re innocent and did everything by the book, but I also I don’t think they were re-distributing - but they needed to charge them with something, and this stuck.

How is this hard to understand? Why is this even something thats confusing? Tablo provides a means for us to DVR locally with our own gear. Aereo actually transmitted the content from “rented” gear.

I agree as well, its pretty clear he has given up on reason and resorted to these inane “omg im going to puke” replies.

you really really really really do not understand Aereo’s technology or the court case. Sorry.

Some serious projection right there.

I don’t want to fuel the argument, just want clarification.
Why does it matter that Aereo transmitted content from rented gear?
I transmitted content from my rented satellite TV DVR.

it’s all about the $$$'s.

OTA-> VCR-> ME = no BROADCASTER fee paid (I own HW, Broadcaster can pound sand)
OTA-> Personal owned DVR-> ME= no BROADCASTER fee paid (I own HW, Broadcaster can pound sand)
CABLE-> DVR-> ME = BROADCASTER fee paid by Cable (Cable own HW, I pay to rent)
SAT-> DVR-> ME= BROADCASTER fee paid by SAT (SAT own HW, I pay to rent)
Aereo DVR-> ME = BROADCASTER wanted fee paid by Aereo (Aereo own HW, I pay to rent)—>Didn’t pay= Lawsuit

Commonality= Broadcaster wants to get paid.
