I have had the tablo for about 8 years and have lifetime premium subscription and have had the commercial skip since it came out. My original tablo quad finally died last week so I bought a new one, and migrated it all worked well but it does not appear that the commercial skip is working on the new unit. I understand that it is not available to new customers but I am noit new I only changed units as my old one died after 8years,
I would recommend contacting Tablo Support directly and I’m betting that they can take care of your problem.
I either do not have the commercial skip with my model or I am unable to find it.
Maybe my model is newer as I just got it last year (about 10 months ago). This is what I am thinking since your Tablo was 8 years old.
Please correct me if I am wrong and perhaps tell me where to find that feature. I have just been forwarding the tape past commercials but a skip feature would be much preferred.
Commercial Skip is a feature that is no longer available to new customers. New customers after 7/19/22 were not offered this service and only customers who currently had the service at that time were permitted to continue paying for and using that service. If current customers discontinue their Commercial Skip subscription, they will not be able to resubscribe to the service.
I got my Tablo in May 2022 and as far I can remember I was not advised of it. Or maybe I was offered it and decided I did not want to pay a fee for it as I cut the cord and not to have to pay for any extras.
Did you ever get a solution? I had the same thing happen. I’ve been a loyal customer since 2015 and my device finally failed. I bought a new one and do not have the commercial skip option. I’m certainly not a new customer in any way and it does not state if you go to a new device you lose it.
It actually states the contrary;
“Like Tablo TV Guide Data Subscriptions, Tablo Premium Service is tied to YOU, not a specific device.
This means you can change or upgrade to a new Tablo DVR and easily transfer your existing Premium Service subscription to your new device.”
Did you go to https://account.tablotv.com to transfer your subscriptions to your new unit?
If you tried that and it didn’twork, then you probably need to call Tablo Support at 1-844-TABLOTV (1-844-822-5688). As long as your Commercial Skip is still active, you should be able to transfer it to your new unit.

I sent an email to Tablo and they responded 1st thing in the morning with the same response as you did, transfer my subscription. I followed the instructions and after a reboot there was the commercial skip feature!
This is exactly why I have been a fan for the product since I got it!!
But I got mine before July 2022. In fact it was in either March or April. But I still haven’t been able to find it.
