I’ve updated my Legacy 4 turner Tablo to 2.2.58. I rescanned my channels and now my “KCAL 9-1” is “INDEPENDENT 9-1” on my Legacy app but is “KCAL 9-1” on the 4th GEN app. I think this is causing problems with my manual recordings on “KCAL 9-1” on the Legacy app. I’ve tried unplugging (resetting) my Tablo, rescanning channels, taking channel out and re-adding it with no success.
Yes, I only have a legacy Tablo. I have both apps on my TV thru Roku. The new app (4thGen) shows the right channel ID KCAL 9-1. The legacy app shows IDEPENDENT 9-1. This happened after installing 2.2.58.
My manual recordings are not working correctly now that I have updated to 2.2.58 on this channel. The others seem to be ok. That’s why I’m thinking it because the channel ID is wrong.
Okay, what I’ve just tested and found is, what happens is there’s a confirmation screen that flashes up on the screen. It instantly disappears which is not allowing you to finish setting up the recording. If you just instantly hit the center button you may catch it and the recording will be set up successfully.
This is absolutely a bug that needs to be fixed
That’s not going to happen.
I think the guide information is pulled from two different sources.
My legacy app that was missing program information, does have the program information in the new app.
I reached out to Tablo about my problem. They said because your Tablo device is a legacy model, we’re unfortunately unable to correct or update missing guide data for it. Legacy models use a different TV Guide Data management process, and as such, we can’t accept requests to fix or modify their guide data.
So even though this happened because I updated to 2.2.58 I’m SOL.
As long as you have rescanned, saved, and updated the guide… Manual recordings shouldn’t care what name is associated with the channel number.
9.1 at what time should stick as long as you beat the flash of the confirmation screen.
Ex:
My 7.1 on new app states WHDH.
On LEGACY it states INDEPENDENT.
Manual recording works.
I have been successfully been able to recreate for a REPEATING recording.
Though a ONE-TIME has been iffy on my ROKU TV.
I’m going to try the standalone Roku also.
