I’m not deaf, but I like to keep Closed Captions turned on. I find it to be a useful feature overall.
However, sometimes the CC is presented in what appears to be a language different than English.
While I’m aware that CC exists and I use the feature, I really don’t know how it technically works. I’m assuming it’s another data stream broadcast along with the video stream.
So, this morning I’m watching The View.episode recordings from this past week. The broadcast recorded on Thursday has captions in an odd language. Friday’s recording seems fine.
I’m watching via ROKU. So would this issue be related to the broadcast signal? Or the ROKU device? Or the Tablo device? Or the Tablo app on ROKU? Or even the TV?
