A rooftop antenna is always better than an indoor antenna if that is an option for you. It is not easy to get stations from two different directions, but it can be done.
Here is two possible solutions. I hope you find them helpful.

Thanks so much for the reply. Iāve watched both and feel better informed as to options available to me.
Rooftop installation: no doubt the better option, but my situation (HOA, concrete roof tiles) lead me to explore/exhaust other avenues first.
If I read/interpret the Rabbitears map for my area correctly, the major networks have towers in the same general compass direction from my house. The hope is that a longer range (amped) antenna will be able to pick them all up.
Again, thanks for your input.
Good luck with it. Keep in mind that the Tablo is only as good as the signal it receives. Getting a good quality antenna, mounted as high as you can get it makes a big difference. I would recommend attic-mounted, however those heavy roof tiles may cause problems. An amplified antenna can help, but sometimes it actually amplifies any interference you are getting and can make it worse. You wonāt know until you try it.
One last thingā¦ There is actually a federal law that says that HOAs cannot stop you from mounting an antenna, but that doesnāt mean it wonāt be a fight. HOAs count on people not pushing back.
Just for informationā¦ from someone that put it way better than I could haveā¦
