I have gone through the setup process and connected the with a usb cable to the hard drive of the Time Capsule and I am getting “no hard drive connected” message. I have been searching the forum and see no mention of anyone using a time capsule for their hard drive.

The HDD in the Time Capsule is a NAS from my understanding. You will need a regular USB Portable HDD for the Tablo.
The USB port on the Time Capsule is to attach another external hard drive so you can share it over the network (aka NAS). The USB port is not for accessing the HDD already in the Time Capsule.
