As requested by the most recent Tablo Support post, I set my Tablo into remote access mode and sent Tablo Support the channels that were having issues with series recording. Within an hour all the issues were gone. I am back to normal.
How many FUBR’ed systems are there 1K, 2K, 5K or more. Support connecting into all these system and fixing them one at a time will take too long. There needs to be a automated system that fixes the problem. Fox legacy there was a scripted that ran as part of nightly guide update.
I hope a firmware update is coming soon to fix existing bugs and provide users the ability correct/purge whatever cruft or bad cache is lingering. A button to send error logs to Tablo when they occur would be nice as well.
Make sure to email them as 99% of all my problems have been fixed. After getting this email from Tablo, the next morning 99% is normal.
““Our team has updated your Tablo to resolve the issue you were encountering when scheduling specific airings/shows. From the time this email arrives, it will take approximately 1–2 hours for your guide data to fully update and process this change.””
After reading the most recent comments about fixing individual problems on a one on one basis, the Tablo team is restoring my faith in the company. That is fantastic Service. In my opinion. well done team Tablo!
If you are still having problems, be sure to submit a request. I did that 2 days ago and the issues I was having were fixed within 24 hours.
Thanks Brittany@Tablo Support
It sounds like they are just spot fixing particular channels or shows people complain about on a case by case basis. So I want to ask a specific question. At this point, if you were to try to set a series recording for a show you never watch on a channel that you never watch and picked it completely randomly, would it work?
Isn’t this the fallacy of this whole approach. You don’t know what you don’t know - is there any or anymore broken programs lurking on your system. Anything that can be fixed for one customer by connecting in can be fixed via a script for all.
I submitted a request for help to Tablo support as suggested. I get about 117 channels in my area and the fully populated program guide has thousands of listings for shows. No idea how they will deal with this but I’ll find out soon enough I suppose.
legacy has a nice feature. You can display the guide(TV Shows, Movies, Sports) by the all filter. I only keep 27 OTA channels. Yet that results in 1,150 shows not episodes.
Let us know when you are done testing that all of your OTA and FAST channels series recording have been tested and are working.
I have same problem.
Tech sad that they will investigate this and contact me by email.
It’s bummer bc it’s most preferred show for me.
Hope they will be able to fixed.
I try to cleared cash. Reset button. Update guide. I change location.
Nothing…
They were able to fix it for me. I had to put the Tablo in host mode to allow them to reset my guide and system. Now I can do recurring episodes. Opens ticket and let them know that need to reset your Tablo.
Got this response via email yesterday after going through the initial troubleshooting steps. My ability to record a recurring series for most shows and most of my 100+ channels is still not functioning. FWIW, I recall missing an episode of NYPD Blue due to a power outage in the very early 2000s when we had the early web and Usenet newsgroup access but not sufficient bandwidth to download full videos and it took less than 7 to 10 business days for a kind stranger to snail mail me a VHS tape of the episode I missed in exchange for postage paid, lol.
“Thanks for contacting us about the guide data on your Tablo device! We got your request and will check it out right away. If we can fix the affected channel(s), you should see the new guide data in about 7 to 10 business days. We’ll let you know as soon as we have an update! !”
