Does the location of the antenna make a difference when recording a tv show while the tv is off?
Also, does the location of the antenna make a difference when watching a recorded show?
4th generation Tablo. I am asking because of buffering issues. The Tablo device is 3 feet from the modem and the antenna is on the windowsill. I wanted to ask before I start moving the antenna around.
The only thing that matters is that the antenna is mounted in the best place to get signal from the stations that you want to receive. The antenna does not know whether the TV is on or off, nor if you are watching a show live or recording it.
Buffering issues are usually due to connection issues between your router and your streaming device. The antenna must be wired to the Tablo, but is your Tablo connected to your router with a wire, or via WiFi? Also, is your streaming device connected to the router with a wire, or via WiFi? In both cases, a wired connection is almost always better.
Just to add. Your antenna needs to be mounted in the best place possible with the strongest signal possible so you’re not fighting issues of degraded signal versus buggy software at the Tablo box
Hard mountain attic antenna, so it never moves and that is no longer a variable in your beta testing in a sense
