I have a 4th gen 4-tuner. I watch via a Google TV Streamer on my TV, and the android app on a Pixel 9 phone. The apps appear to be the same app (same name and version on both), but when I watch a recording of a program from a FAST channel, I can’t seek properly on my phone. After trying to seek several times, the length of the episode looks ridiculous, showing that the time of the episode is over 2 hours for a ~50 minute program. Once it gets in that state, weird things start happening when I try to seek. Sometimes nothing happens. Sometimes it just goes back to the beginning of the episode. At this point I have no option but to watch in real time until the end of the episode.
On my Google TV streamer, however, seeking works fine.
When you see this, are you watching a completed recording or is the recording still in progress?
Do you see different behavior depending on whether the recording is completed or not? Is there a particular channel that is affected more than others or are they all the same?
I’ve only ever tried to watch completed recordings from FAST channels. I’ve only recorded from 3 different FAST channels but the behavior is the same on all of them. And it happens with 100% of the FAST channel recordings I have made (and tried to watch on my phone).
@TabloTV It has now been over three weeks since your last reply. The Android app has had a significant update in the meantime (introducing category-based guide options), but the problem remains in the latest version.
@terminalmage Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to reproduce that here.
Are you using a hard drive with your Tablo or the onboard storage? If you are using a hard drive, it could be worth disconnecting it temporarily and trying the onboard storage to see if that makes a difference…
There are also some improvements for playback of FAST channels in the firmware rolling out now.
