I’ve been a very happy tablo customer for almost a year and really pleased. I worry about the new Amazon product though… Bezos is ruthless will tablo survive the predatory capitalism? I hope so… cheers to tablo
They’re current product is not significantly cheaper than the Tablo, and it’s definitely not better. So Tablo will be around for a while.
Well we don’t know if it is better or not. Nobody has one. But I sure Hope you are right… Bezos plays to win and will lose money for a long time if necessary. so it will be interesting to re assess this in a year. Long live tablo

Tablo can’t be thrilled that mega-consumer giant Amazon has decided to copy their business model, but it’s not even out yet. Let’s wait & see just how feature rich &/or poor it is. How well it works &/or how buggy it is.
At release it will be slightly cheaper for new cord-cutters, & considering it has an extremely well known name behind it, it will have that advantage to new cord-cutters as well.
Only time will tell what this ultimately means for Tablo.

Well so far it only supports playback on Fie TV devices and is only 720p video.
Tablo lets you use your Apple devices, Roku units, Samsung phones, and supports 1080p video. That is better.
Yea this is just their IPO. Let’s see where they are in a year . Go tablo!
And web browser, and Tablet, and basically any other Android phone, and Kodi, and Android boxes. I think at this point the Tablo is definitely better by almost any metric without needing to see Amazon’s DVR. Unless they decided to hide a bunch of features.
Remember the Amazon Fire Phone? Amazon doesn’t always have a winner of a product and sometimes they cut their losses and get out of the business. I had a Fire Phone and it had many problems, including constant rebooting and a battery that swelled and deformed the phone. It was replaced once under warranty, but the second one was only marginally better.
Yea I remember when fire TV was a joke. Stakes are higher though. If they set out to dominate the entertainment world they certainly have the will and the means. I hope tablo stays ahead we certainty have a solid product which I hope to keep and upgrade.
Actually, they are claiming it will work with most android phones through a mobile app. But other than phones, it will be strictly for Amazon devices to start. But there are many more Amazon customers than Tablo customers & most everyone has heard of Amazon. How many people know what Tablo is or even heard of it?
But it is yet to be seen if this will be successful for them.

We’ll have to wait and see then. 1080p is a must. Then a Roku app.

You make a very good point. I’d never even heard of Tablo until the day I bought one. Stumbled upon it in a Best Buy, bought it as sort of a gimmick / experiment, not realizing how much I would enjoy it.
