I’ve had my Tablo for just over the warranty period and it died - no light, nothing. Support did nothing. Has anyone tried replacing the power cord with success? I’ve had to replace the AC adapter on other devices that brought them back to life.
If you have a DC volt meter, you can test the output of the power cube.
It happens, but seems more likely its the white gen 4 box.
How long out of warranty? Tablo is often lenient with the warranty period. Test your power supply with a multi-meter. If the power supply is good, call support again and get a different customer service rep. You may have better luck.
Thank you - it was tested OK at best buy’s Geek Squad. But I wasn’t confident.
Thanks - I was disappointed in their dismissal. I should have remembered that their different reps give greatly different answers.
My son also has a tablo so when my tablo died I tried using the power supply from mine on his and his on mine. The problem was a dead tablo not the supply. I like my tablo except for the “upgrade” issues. But I have know had two 4-gen tablos die. Wish there was a real competitor.
My sympathies. Why is it so hard?? ALL of it: no quality, no competition, few competent support reps, etc.
I bought Tablo to skip the annoying commercials. I got spoiled quickly but the frequent contacts with Support was also annoying. I’m now paying almost $20 a month for Netflix without commercials and finding broadcast TV is not that great anyway.
I ordered the $15 power cord from Tablo, but I’m not optimistic. Thanks for your reply!
