720P vs 1080i vs 1080P

All of my local major stations show up on the Tablo scan as 1080i or 720p. Why are none 1080p?

None of the major stations broadcast 1080p. It is part of the ATSC spec but is not used OTA. CBS and NBC use 1080i while ABC and FOX do 720p.
