Is there any reason why a broadcast that I can get 5.1 sound from cable (when I had cable at least) and streaming app (NBCSN) wouldn’t play as 5.1 on the TabloTV via AppleTV?
I’ve checked and double checked the settings, no matter what, no 5.1?
Anything I could be missing?
It’s really only noticeable with motorsports content?

It doesn’t “play” as 5.1? Or it doesn’t “record” as 5.1? Those are two very different issues.
Under recordings, with recent updates, I’ve noticed Tablo showing a message that this recording was recorded in 5.1, do you see that message under the broadcast you’re looking at?
Also 5.1 is a global setting, so if you “turn on” 5.1, you turn it on for all devices. If you go to a different device and turn if off, then all 5.1 is turned off.
The live broadcast isn’t (or rather now wasn’t) putting out the 5.1, which is odd since that local station I’m getting on the TabloTV used to have 5.1 on local cable, and the race broadcast is available on both Vue (different NBC station) and NBCSN app in 5.1? Other content (live and recorded) on the TabloTV is playing in 5.1. Just something odd I noticed while watching the race this weekend. Was wondering if I’d managed to toggle a setting somewhere I was missing.
Will check the recording, I believe I recorded it, when I get home later tonight.
