Sounds more impressive than it is.
We have 2 Tablo 4 tuners.
1 for me.
1 for my boss.

We started with 1 Tablo 2 tuner, and quickly found 2 tuners was not quite enough, but the major problem was disk space.
Someone, who shall remain nameless, but I bet you can guess who she is, records everything, and deletes nothing.
Thus, we have 2 Tablos.
They just both happen to be 4 tuner models.

I was doing some reading and just found out the Tablo can handle an 8 terrabyte drive. That isn’t too shabby.

Yes, they extended the maximum from the original of 2TB. Be aware that drives over 5TB use a separate power adapter (they need more power than USB can provide).

'Tested' Hard Drives

If anyone wants to go ‘whole hog’ on the larger hard drive thing, we’ve tested this Seagate Backup Plus 8TB Desktop External Hard Drive drive and it works great on the new firmware! [image]

There’s been some terrific storage prices lately so I’ll be keeping my eye on drives. Right now I’m just using a small SSD for the low power consumption and quick write speeds. Drive spin up was a problem on my old DVR.
